Fayette County students stock up on supplies as school begins

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - With one day to go until school starts back up some Fayette County students spent Tuesday stocking up on school supplies.

Meijer on Reynolds Road was calm but that wasn't the case everywhere.

"It’s pretty crazy honestly," said soon to be LexingTON Catholic Senior Cameron Coulter. "I went in Walmart and it was unorganized and, like, everybody was fighting over stuff and I just come in here and it’s organized and pretty nice."

For those going to school for the first time being prepared was a big priority.

"Well it’s my first time and I’m nervous because I’ve never been to school," said five-year-old Harmony Davenport.

The kindergartner was also preparing to wake up earlier than she had in the past.

"She’s going to do my hair and I got to get up very early," Davenport said while looking at her mother.

Those school supply lists can be found online but the stores we went into also had lists from nearby schools.
