Lexington firefighters are investigating what caused a house fire in Lexington.

It happened around 2 a.m. Friday morning on Georgetown Road in Lexington.

Firefighters say the home was abandoned and the fire damage has caused the house to collapse in on itself.

The home is 300 feet off the road, so firefighters say they had to shuttle water to the scene. They even had firefighters in Scott County help bring in water.

The fire department also brought a rehab trailer so the firefighters could get warm while fighting the fire.

Firefighters say the home is a total loss, but still don't know what caused the fire in the first place.
