ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - Police want to find the person behind a disturbing crime. Investigators say someone hung fishing wire between trees in Freeman Lake Park in Hardin County.

Police say they found fishing wire strung between trees at Freeman Lake Park in Hardin County, Kentucky on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.

Louisville CBS affiliate, WLKY, reports a woman called Elizabethtown Police on Tuesday night after riding her bicycle into one of the wires. The woman was thrown from her bicycle and received a cut to the face. Police say they received several other reports that night as well.

"Someone has deliberately put this across a trail where bicyclists and joggers frequent, and the only intention that we can really assume here is to harm people," John Thomas with Elizabethtown Police told WKYT. "Really, we don't have a suspect or a motive and frankly this is a serious offense. This puts someone at substantial risk of injury."

Police say the person responsible could face wanton endangerment charges.
