VERSAILLES, Ky. (WKYT) - A former employee in the Woodford and Fayette County public school districts is heading to prison after being convicted third-degree rape and third-degree sodomy of a student younger than 16.

Our news partners at the Lexington Herald-Leader report Lindsey Banta Jarvis, 28, was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Jarvis will receive credit for 84 days of home incarceration. She is also scheduled to be sentenced in Fayette County Friday on a third-degree rape charge. The sentence will run concurrently with the Woodford County sentence.

An indictment says Jarvis sodomized the victim in May 2016 and had sexual intercourse with the victim in June 2016. She would leave Woodford County before being employed at Fayette County in August 2016.

The arrest report said the victim told police he had sexual intercourse with Jarvis and the report goes on to say the victim's cell phone had correspondence that suggested the victim and suspect were in a romantic relationship.
