Four confirmed cases of West Nile Virus in Kentucky

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - The Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) says there are four confirmed cases of West Nile Virus in humans in Kentucky.

The cases are in Fayette (1), Hopkins (2), and Jefferson (1) counties.

Crews with the Lexington Fayette County Health Department sprayed Lexington lawns in the 40502, 40505, 40507, and 40508 zip codes for mosquitos.

According to the CDC, 42 states and Washington, D.C. have reported West Nile virus infections in people, birds, mosquitoes, or horses in 2017.
