FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - A Frankfort brewery is holding its grand opening Thursday.
Sig Luscher Brewery will hold its grand opening 6 p.m. Dec. 27 at 221 Mero Street.
The operation is described as a "heritage brewery," as Swiss immigrant Sig Luscher established a brewery in 1866 where the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is currently located. The reopening comes 127 years after it was last operational. Frankfort has not had a brewery since then.
Its flagship pilsner will be available in bars, restaurants and retail stores throughout central and eastern Kentucky, and its Frankfort taproom will have more options. The taproom will also have food options.
The grand opening is expected to last until midnight, and the taproom will operate during the same hours Friday and Saturday.
