Frankfort's only brewery reopens after 127 years of dormancy

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Tonight Frankfort welcomed its first brewery in over a century.

The Sig Luscher Brewery opened its doors Thursday night for its grand opening. The brewery has been closed for nearly 127 years, but it has been given new life.

The brewery is named after a Swiss immigrant Sig Luscher who established a brewery in the area back in 1866. Lushcer’s great-great-great grandson Tim Luscher was at tonight’s opening.

The brewery is on Frankfort’s Mero Street.
