LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Garrard County boy's dream is coming true.
On Saturday, the Make-A-Wish Foundation partnered with Northside RV in Lexington to donate a blue camper to seven-year-old Wesley Hale and his family.
Hale suffers from cystic fibrosis, but asked for a camper because he says he loves going camping and doing things outdoors despite the disorder making things difficult for him.
"It can make him live and camp like a normal kid and be able to have the freedom to do what he loves to do," Wesley's mother Shawnta Hale said.
The RV came in blue because that is Wesley's favorite color.
"We're super excited to help Wesley and be a part of this," Northside RV General Manager Joe Steffen said. "He's going to have a blast and his family is going to have a good time."
Wesley's family says he just got out of the hospital, so this gift really raised his spirits.
"It's very exciting," Make-A-Wish volunteer Savannah Neuner said. "It's very rewarding to see him be excited and I know it helps him."
Volunteers also made sure Wesley had Christmas gifts when he was in the hospital and they took him to a UK baseball game too.
