Georgetown man accused of killing caretaker appears in court
Attorneys who represent the Georgetown man accused of beating his caretaker to death with a baseball bat are now pushing for a psychiatric evaluation.
36-year-old Hunter Moore has been charged with murdering Denise Hamilton who his family had hired to help him. Today Moore had a not guilty plea entered on his behalf. Police have not said why Moore needed the help.
According to Moore's arrest citation, he said he heard God tell him to beat a demon from Hamilton. Police say he then went downstairs with a baseball bat and hit Hamilton in the head, arms, knees and stomach. His citation stated that Moore told police he did feel bad for beating her.
Moore's preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 14 in Georgetown. His bond remains at $100,000.
