PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A grand jury has indicted a man in connection with the murder of a woman at a Somerset church.

The indictment against Dwight Bell came down on Wednesday for murder, robbery, theft, evidence tampering, and being a persistent felony offender charges.

Police say on Thursday, August 24th Bell went to the Denham Street Baptist Church and killed Carolyn New, 70, who had been cleaning the church's activity center. A detective testified that Bell went to the church while New was there asking for food because he was homeless. When New returned with food, police say Bell killed her. Police in Dandridge, Tennessee captured him several days after the crime.

Bell's circuit court arraignment will be October 26 at 9 am.
