Here is what you need to know about Kentucky's new sales tax

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - The Kentucky Department of Revenue is letting consumers and business owners know what is about to be taxed in July.

The list of applicable services might surprise you. Many of the newly taxable services are ones you might take for granted.

Kentuckians can expect to see the six percent tax added to things like:


  • Car repairs

  • Veterinary care for small animals

  • Admission to public pools

  • Golf course fees

  • Furniture and equipment rentals

  • UK Athletics ticket prices (Season and Single-Game)
