IRVINE, Ky. (WKYT) - Hundreds of people in Estill County were without power for nearly 19 hours after a car crash damaged a transmission line.

According to officials, the crash happened around 5:30 Saturday night. Crews say a car hit a Kentucky Utilities transmission pole feeding the Millers Creek substation.
At one point, nearly 1,300 Jackson Energy customers in Estill and Lee counties had no power.
According to Jackson Energy, just over 500 customers had no power most of Sunday morning, mostly in Estill County.
A Jackson Energy spokesperson tells WKYT that a Kentucky Utilities contractor installed a new pole, and new lines to the substation.
By 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jackson Energy had restored power to all members.
