MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (WKYT) - Part of Interstate 75 will be closed later this week.
According to Kentucky State Police, I-75 in Rockcastle County will be closed from 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9 to 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 10. The closure will include all southbound lanes, as well as the left northbound lane. The closure will allow road crews to set bridge beams for the Kentucky 1505 bridge reconstruction project.
There will be a detour in place. Drivers will leave I-75 at Exit 76 in Berea and be re-routed onto U.S. 25 before reconnecting with I-75 in Mount Vernon.
On Thursday, January 11, there will be rolling roadblocks in the northbound lanes beginning at 10:00 a.m. The roadblocks will last approximately 15 minutes and will happen periodically throughout the day.
