Jean Gibowski, the practice manager at Brighton Animal Clinic in Lexington, received a call Friday morning about a little puppy in Estill County in need.

"You couldn't even hold her without her screaming in pain," said Gibowski. "We took x-rays and found that every single rib had been broken on both sides."

While they're not sure exactly what happened to the puppy, Jean says all signs pointed to abuse. Despite the severity of her injuries, the puppy is expected to fully recovery, earning her the name Miracle.

Jean shared Miracle's story online, in hopes of covering the puppy's medical bills. Within hours the post went viral. Donations came pouring in, with enough money left over to start the "Miracle Fund" in the puppy's honor to help other animals in need.

Jean says along with donations they've had countless inquiries about adopting Miracle. They are currently in the process of choosing Miracle's forever home.
