Interstate 64 eastbound in Shelby County was closed after a semi fire Thursday morning.

Transportation officials say the fire happened around 7:30 a.m. near mile marker 36.

Even worse, because of the cold temperatures, the water being used to put the fire out was freezing on the road.

Crews were not able to remove the semi until the road thawed. The highway was fully reopened around by 11 a.m.
