LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - All day long our temperatures will be dropping! It is a trend that remains all week long.
This front allows temperatures to go away from the pleasant levels of being above normal, to being well below average. Consider today’s activities necessary to get us to the Arctic Air. What we track out there today will be cold, just not Arctic kind of cold. We will get plenty of that toward the end of the week and into the weekend.
Arctic air will begin making moves on us. It will means business by Friday. That’s when you start seeing the truly cold nature to the air. Highs won’t make it out of the 30s by that point. Another shot of cold will keep highs in the twenties... especially if we get a little snow on the ground.
It is looking more and more likely that we see snow chances by the end of the week and into the weekend. It could mean that we track some accumulations. To throw out any numbers would be very irresponsible of me. I am leaning toward some accumulations in the area, it’s just too early to commit to a total. We are several days away from the flakes even flying. Confidence is high for snow to be flying in the area. The “how much” is where I find my low confidence level. That will change as time goes by!
