LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A cold front will completely move through the region today. It will spark some showers & storms as it runs through Kentucky.
The front that makes its way across Kentucky today will bring showers & storms. Those storms are a sign of some changes happening in the atmosphere. The air out in front of this system has been very hot and humid. Our front will interact with that airmass and possibly bring more soaking thunderstorms to the region. Some could be strong or even severe while the transition from steamy to refreshing happens.
Your Saturday high temperatures will probably come in around 80 degrees. There is a chance that some of you will get stuck in the upper 70s. A far cry from tracking heat index values in the 105 to 110 range. If you compare the heat index on Saturday to the heat index on Wednesday, you will find that it drops roughly 25-30 degrees. These lower levels of humidity will make it feel awesome this weekend.
It is Summer and the heat is never too far away. You will find highs and humidity climbing as we head into next week! So enjoy this amazing weekend!
