Jim Caldwell's Forecast | Wet pattern comes together

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The first rounds of rain of this water-logged pattern arrived on Tuesday. We will track even more today.

Not only did we track the first showers & storms yesterday, we tracked a few severe storms. Strong or severe storms will continue to be a possibility through the remainder of the week. While I don't ever expect it to be a widespread severe weather outbreak, I do think that we have plenty of chances.

The tropical air that is being pumped into Kentucky will enhance the heavy rain threat. Any of these storms will have heavy rain potential due to this set-up. I have been talking about how we'll generally see 1" to 4" of rainfall by this weekend. Under one of these stronger storms we could pick up half of that or more in a very short amount of time.

These rains will keep coming as long as that front is hanging out near Kentucky. It will keep those chances going through the weekend.
