LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Winter still has two weeks left in the tank and sometimes it can run on reserves beyond March.
These nicer days are numbered. A very different and colder pattern is about to take hold. You might even see some snow during the middle of the week. A front will pass through Kentucky today. We will track plain old showers with it.
After the front clears Kentucky, we will see some much colder air user into the region. Highs will fall into the upper 30s and low 40s. Very chilly stuff! Moisture will keep flying into the region and interacting with the colder air. You will see snow flying and you might see it stick in some cases. Just not a tremendous amount. A coating on some high spots in eastern Kentucky.
There might be an even better chance by Friday night and Saturday morning. This round has a better shot at accumulation. It also has a solid chance that we miss the snowy side of it. It still deserves attention. It's March and that can mean anything!
