LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- Defensive Player of the Year Josh Allen announced Friday afternoon that he "plans to bring the Citrus Bowl trophy back to Lexington."

It looks like Allen will play in the January 1 bowl game against Penn State after Friday's announcement on Twitter. The rest of his statement is as follows:

"I am deeply humbled by the nominations and award I have received this week. I want to thank my coaches, my teammates, and the BBN. I am honored to say we have unfinished business and my teammates and I plan to bring the Citrus Bowl trophy back to Lexington. BBN see you in Orlando."

Allen won the Bednarik Award and Nagurski Award this week to follow his SEC Defensive Player of the Year award.

Kentucky will face Penn State in Orlando on January 1 at 1:00.
