FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - A Kansas man is facing charges for allegedly trying to purchase a Kentucky child for sexual acts.

Attorney General Andy Beshear and the Department of Criminal Investigations Cyber Crime Unit say Kansas police arrested Ernest Merle John Anziana, 48, of Fredonia, Kansas last week.

Deputies arrested Anziana following an investigation by Beshear's office, after investigators learned that Anziana was trying to solicit sex from an underage child in Kentucky, offering to purchase the child for $250 and 7 grams of methamphetamine.

Anziana’s charges include five counts of unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor for sex, and one count of promoting human trafficking with a victim under the age of 18. Both charges are felonies.

He was also charged with solicitation to commit human trafficking in Greenwood County, Kansas.

Anziana is currently being held in Kansas while awaiting extradition to Kentucky.
