Keeneland hosting Oaks, Derby day events
The Kentucky Derby may take place in Louisville, but Lexington's premier horse racing facility is finding ways to capitalize on the fastest two minutes in sports.
Keeneland's facilities will be open during the biggest weekend in horse racing. On Friday for the Kentucky Oaks and on Saturday for the Kentucky Derby, there will be several family-friendly events taking place at Keeneland.
On both days, the Paddock and Walking Rings will feature races from Churchill Downs on large video screens. Fans can picnic while watching the races or view the racing on televisions throughout the Grandstand.

The Hill will be open on Saturday morning from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. where fans can tailgate, enjoy food trucks, live music and wager on races.
The Paddock will host several events and patrons may visit The Keeneland Shop tent to spin the prize wheel and play racing-related games.
Admission into Keeneland is $5 on Saturday.
The events are kid-friendly complete with children's activities. Gates open at 9 a.m. and parking is free on Friday and Saturday.
