Ky. House passes child abuse protection bill

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Ky. House of Representatives has passed a bill that is aimed at protecting children from abuse in Kentucky.

House Bill 129, also known as the Kylie Jo Sizemore bill, would require anyone convicted of child abuse to register with the state.

This bill would be similar to how sex offenders must register with the state.

Kylie Jo Sizemore is a Jessamine County child who police say was abused and seriously injured by her babysitter in 2016.

The bill now heads to the senate.
