The City of Lexington says they are offering a way to get rid of up to one pickup truck load of non-hazardous waste for free.

In a news release, the city says Lexington residents can drop off the trash on Saturday, April 14, from 6 a. m. to 1 p.m. to at the Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station, 1505 Old Frankfort Pike.

They say bulky items such as off the rim tires, mattresses, and furniture will be accepted. However, they say they will not be accepting items such as hazardous waste, construction leftovers, electronics, and yard waste. Drop-offs are limited to one pickup truck load.

They say yard waste can be taken to the Haley Pike Waste Management Facility, 4216 Hedger Lane, each month at no cost and electronics and hazardous materials can be taken to Environmental Recycling Inc. at 3899 Winchester Road where they are accepted at no cost.

Lexington offers free disposal days four times a year: January, April, July, and October, usually on the third Saturday.
