LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A large crowd turned out for the women's march in downtown Lexington. It began at the Fayette County Courthouse at 2 p.m.
Organizers say this march is one of solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of marchers in Washington D.C.
Lexington Police estimate more than 5,000 people attended the march.
Main Street and Limestone were both closed for the event.
Protesters said they are upset by actions President Donald Trump has already taken.
"By his cabinet picks, what he's already done on the campaign trail, the hate that he spread, I think it's already clear what their intentions are. I don't think we have to give him a chance," said Kirsti Manning
