Shooting victim returns fire in Lexington home invasion

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington police were called to investigate a reported shooting early Tuesday morning.

Crews arrived on Gunn Street, off Elm Tree Lane, around 6:30 a.m.

A witness told police she and the victim were in an upstairs bedroom when someone broke into the home.

The intruder shot the victim who returned fire, according to the witness.

Police rushed the victim to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

The witness told police the suspect ran out the back door. Police are still looking for the shooter.

Police said they found two guns in the front yard. At least one of them belonged to the suspect, according to police.
