Gratz Park Inn in downtown Lexington sold, closed for renovations

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Changes are coming to a landmark hotel in downtown Lexington.

Gratz Park Inn closed on Tuesday. The hotel on West 2nd Street posted a message about the decision on Facebook.

Anyone calling Gratz Park Inn is greeted with a message saying the hotel is "undergoing complete renovations." The message says the hotel should reopen in April or May of 2018.

The hotel's restaurant, Distilled at Gratz Park, will remain open during the renovations.

The restaurant's owner, Mark Wombles, tell our news partners at the Lexington Herald Leader that the hotel has been sold, and will become a luxury Hilton boutique property.
