Male wins 6-A title over Lafayette, 41-14

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Male, backed by a dominating defensive effort, won the 6-A state football title on Saturday, whipping Lafayette, 41-14, at L.T. Smith Stadium on the campus of Western Kentucky University.

The Generals were making their first finals appearance since 1985.

For the Bulldogs, it was their first undefeated season since 1964. It’s Male’s first state championship since 2000.

Quarterback Hayden Shelton threw for four touchdown passes.

Lafayette finished the season 12-3.
