Police have arrested a man who they suspect stole from a man and robbed a Lexington beauty store back in May.

According to police, James Bell snatched a wallet, containing $180, off a cashier's counter while at the Loudon Avenue Rite Aid.

When Bell tried to run, the wallet's owner tacked him. Bell was able to slip out of his jacket and escape though, police said. He then got in a green car and sped off toward New Circle Road.

Left behind in Bell's jacket were his wallet and social security card, police said. Police were further able to identify Bell using Rite Aid's security video.

A few hours later on the same day, Bell went into Sally Beauty Supply on Sir Barton Way, police said. There he asked the store's manager for help finding a product. When she brought him to the counter to pay, Bell demanded money from the register, police said.

Now, Bell is charged with robbery and theft. He will be arraigned Thursday.
