MT. STERLING, Ky. (WKYT) - Police have arrested a man following a deadly crash in Mt. Sterling late Friday night.

Mt. Sterling Police charged Juan Rodriguez, 43, with second degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident. The crash happened just before midnight on U.S. 460, near Indian Mound Drive.

Police say Rodriguez hit a pedestrian with his car, but didn't stop. The victim later died at St. Joseph Hospital Mt. Sterling. Police arrested Rodriguez early Saturday morning.

According to an arrest citation obtained by WKYT, police say Rodriguez admitted to drinking more than 100 ounces of alcohol in an 11 hour period. They say he also admitted to driving a car Eastbound on U.S. 460, at the time the pedestrian was hit.

In the arrest citation, police say once Rodriguez arrived home, he and his girlfriend discussed the crash, and she told him that he struck a person with his car. However, police say Rodriguez still didn't call emergency services, and decided to go to bed.

The Montgomery County coroner says the victim is Bo Wesley Beam, 24, of Winchester. Beam's body is being sent to Frankfort for an autopsy.
