Troopers: Man shot and killed by Nicholasville officers was armed

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - One person was shot and killed by police in Nicholasville Wednesday night.

A man was fatally shot by police in Nicholasville early Thursday morning (WKYT).

The shooting happened at an apartment complex on Beauford Place, off Main Street, around 11:30 p.m.

Kentucky State Police said Nicholasville officers were dispatched to the home for a report of a domestic dispute. While inside the home, troopers said police were confronted, resulting in the shooting.

Jessamine County Coroner Michael Hughes said the person killed was 27-year-old James Crowe. Crowe lived at the apartments where the shooting took place.

Troopers say Crowe was armed when police shot him.

Kentucky State Police is leading the investigation.
