Amy McGrath announced she's running for office again. This time she's running for Senate to challenge Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

McGrath is a retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel. The former fighter pilot

McGrath was recruited to challenge Sen. McConnell in 2020 by the highest-ranking Democrat in the United States.

The contest will test the power of incumbency against a call for generational change along with a measure of whether Trump's popularity is transferable.

A total of seven candidates have filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to begin fundraising to run for Kentucky's U.S. Senate seat in 2020.

The Republican candidates are Sen. McConnell, Wesley Morgan and Karl Das.

The Democratic candidates are Jimmy Ausbrooks, Andrew Maynard, Seven Jewell Isom Cox, and Kevin Elliott. McGrath did not file paperwork with the FEC before making her announcement.
