PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - A missing Virginia teen has been found, and the man police say abducted her has been arrested in Kentucky.

WYMT reports that 15-year-old Madeline Wells was found Thursday, after disappearing Wednesday from Grundy, Virginia.

The Buchanan County Sheriff says Wells was last seen at the Comfort Inn Motel with 21-year-old Michael Newnam from North Carolina. According to the Sheriff, Newman met Wells on Facebook, and had been seeing each other for several days prior to Wells’ disappearance.

The Sheriff says a possible sighting on Thursday led investigators to search in Pikeville, Kentucky for Wells and Newnam, where they were found. Newnam was taken into custody at that time. He remains in jail awaiting extradition to Virginia.

Wells has reportedly returned home and is with her family.
