Montgomery County mother seeks justice for daughter's alleged abuse

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Montgomery County mother is asking for justice. Nearly one year ago, her daughter, Josie, was just five months old. That's when she found out she had a skull fracture. Nearly a year later, an indictment was handed down in the case.

"She could have been gone, but she's here and she's smart and she's healthy and she's a great kid," Autumn Rose said of her daughter. Josie is 16 months old, with a lot of personality.

"I think a lot isn't really the word for it," she said. "She's pretty diva style."

It's something Rose is incredibly thankful for after allegations stemming from almost a full year back.

"I've been told several times 'it's going to happen next month', 'it's going to happen next month', 'it's going to happen next month'. I've been told that since February and it's just now happened."

Just this week, Megan Webb was indicted in Montgomery County for two counts of criminal abuse. One count alleges a nine month old suffered a skull fracture and fractured ribs while in her care. The other count alleges a skull fracture to five-month-old Josie.

"My mom text me September 11, I was at work. It was a Monday."

The text said Josie had a bruise on her face, according to Rose. She said not knowing where it came from, she sent a text to Webb, but then got a more startling message from her mom.

Rose said, "They're going in to eat and he notices this indentation in her head. He's like 'My God, Rhonda look at this', and my mom texted me and she was like, 'Hey, she's got a dent in her head', and I'm like, 'Okay, send me a picture.'"

A trip to Clark Regional Hospital revealed Josie had a Ping Pong Fracture, according to family.

"I paid someone to watch my child and she wound up being abused. We don't know what happened there day in and day out. I don't know what happened to her. I don't know what was done to her," Rose said. "We're just going to fight this tooth and nail. I just eventually want to see her behind bars and people to really believe what I know in my heart is true."

Webb never went to jail because she posted bond after turning herself in. WKYT hasn't been able to get in contact with her for comment.
