A police chase that began in Morehead and topped 100 miles per hour ended with the driver and his passenger going to jail.

Officers responded to a reckless driving complaint around 11 p.m. Saturday on KY 32 near Cracker Barrel in Morehead.

Police stopped a car driven by John E. Hall, 30, of Morehead, officers said.

"Hall gave officers his name and date of birth, and no record was found," said Capt. Kyle Callahan with Morehead Police. "Officers went back to get his middle initial and Hall refused. He was asked multiple times to get out of the vehicle and he stated he didn't have to."

As officers tried to remove Hall from the car, he sped away and nearly hit four of them, Callahan said.

Hall led police on a pursuit that exceeded 100 miles per hour on Interstate 64 before turning onto KY 801 and then Bluebank Road in Rowan County, officers said.

Hall wrecked less than two miles down Bluebank Road and ran from the scene but was arrested shortly afterward, Callahan said.

Police also arrested the passenger, Jenna C. May, 32, of West Liberty.

No one sustained serious injuries, police said.

Hall faces a long list of charges, including driving under the influence, fleeing or evading police and wanton endangerment.

Police charged May with public intoxication.

Both May and Hall were taken to the Rowan County Detention Center.
