New system causing delays in clerk's offices across the Bluegrass

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Clerk's offices across Kentucky are warning citizens about longer wait times due to a new system.

Clerk's offices are taking to Facebook to warn citizens. They say a new sale system is causing the delays for customers hoping to renew vehicle registration and tags along with any other services in the Motor Vehicle Commission.

The new point of sale system was issued by the State of Kentucky Clerk's system in Frankfort.

They say part of the delay is because clerk employees are learning the system. The delays are not expected to be a long-term issue.

Fayette County Clerk Don Blevins recommends customers to call their local clerk's office before arriving and then waiting in the long lines.
