Man charged with arson in connection to fire at his apartment building

OLIVE HILL, Ky. (WSAZ/WKYT) - An apartment building caught fire early Saturday morning in Carter County.

First responders were called to Tom T. Hall Blvd. in Olive Hill around 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

Several fire departments responded to the call, including Carter, Boyd, Greenup, and Rowan Counties.

Olive Hill police say officers arrested Harvey Middleton Junior, 49 of Olive Hill. He is charged with first-degree arson as well as nine counts of wanton endangerment.

Police say Middleton lived at the apartment complex where the fire occurred.

No injuries have been reported. The fire remains under investigation.

Officials with the American Red Cross are assisting eight families impacted by the fire.
