PARIS, Ky. (WKYT) - The Paris Police Department is asking for the public's help after a number of businesses were broken into downtown.
Detectives say the burglaries occurred on Main Street in downtown, an area they say is not prone to such crime.
The police department is investigating four separate burglaries in the downtown area, and each happened in a similar manner. Each time a backdoor into the business was broken into, creating significant amounts of damage.
Police say approximately $600 was taken as a rsult, and police chief Butch Best is reminding businesses in the area to keep doors locked and alarms set because he does not want to see more cases appear.
"If you have your business or your residence or something like that entered by someone that's unknown, it does put you at a feeling of uneasiness, and it does upset you because you do feel violated ." Best said, "We understand that and we are in full force."
The police department says it has a suspect, and it hopes to have more answers soon.
