One person charged with animal cruelty in Perry County

PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT)- Perry County Sheriff's deputies say a call reporting animals not being properly cared for has led to the arrest of one person in Perry County.

Deputies say when arriving at the home off White Drive in Perry County, they found a puppy dead and another dog chained to a short chain under the front porch. They say the dogs were malnourished and were without proper shelter. They also say the temperature was too cold for the puppies to be outside.

Deputies say the owner of the dogs, Kayland Miller, was charged with cruelty to animals. All the animals were taken to Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter in Hazard.
