WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WKYT) - Williamsburg police is warning the public about a debit card skimming scam which has affected approximately 100 people.

The department says it is investigating numerous cases in a two-day window after investigators determined thieves used a skimming device which can be placed over a point of sales machine.

The skimming device would take your information and pin, which allows the scammer to use it to make transactions.

Williamsburg police believe a larger organization may be behind the scam, and the organization looks to target businesses along Interstate highways.
