ERLANGER, Ky. (WKYT) - A commercial driver was in an uncomfortable situation for a long period of time following a wreck on an Interstate highway in Kentucky Thursday morning.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says a FedEx commercial driver from Indiana was traveling on I-275 at the Mineola Pike interchange when his vehicle veered and struck an SUV in the emergency lane. The tractor-trailer went over the embankment and landed upside down.

The driver would spend approximately 1 hour 45 minutes upside down before being extricated. Although he never lost consciousness, he was taken to a hospital in Cincinnati.

Two lanes remained blocked as well as the entrance ramp where the crash occurred.
