Police: Four Nicholasville officers suffer smoke inhalation after man sets fire to home

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - A police response to a Nicholasville domestic complaint has led to a fire, leaving four officers with smoke inhalation.

Police first responded to a domestic situation Lorraine Avenue in Nicholasville. When officers arrived, people were reporting a fire at the same address.

Police say a person was choking his mother. The man went back into the burning home when officers arrived. As the fire continued, police tried to rescue the man, but they were unable to because of the smoke.

The man accused of choking his mother had suffered smoke inhalation injuries and went to the hospital along with the four officers.

The mother was not seriously hurt. Pets were also rescued from the burning home.
