LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police continue to investigate a series of car break-ins at local gyms.

Officers said a number of cars were smashed into around 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the Planet Fitness at 125 E. Lowry Lane, just off of Nicholasville Road.

"I have no idea who they are. I'm not going to judge them," said Planet Fitness member Hadly Clutter. "I hope it doesn't happen to my car and I feel bad for the people that it did happen to, but I just hope they find their way out of whatever they're going through."

Then, around 2:00 p.m., more car windows were found shattered at the LA Fitness located at 3001 Blake James Drive, near the intersection of Old Todds Road and Palumbo Drive.

"It's a pretty nice area, pretty safe area," said LA Fitness member Nazeer Shaikh. "I guess it just goes to show you there's people who kind of do bad things everywhere and we need to be kind of on guard even when we're going to the gym."

Police said a total of six cars were broken into between the two locations. Officers say you should always lock your doors and keep purses and other valuables hidden from view when you park your car.

Anyone with information about these crimes should call the police.
