Coroner releases name of man killed in Tuesday Lexington shooting
One man is dead following an early morning shooting in Lexington, police said.
It marks the third shooting in Lexington Tuesday morning. It happened on Devonport Drive at 6:15.
The man, who the coroner later identified as 21-year-old Christian Cubert, was taken to the hospital, but died there, police said. The coroner said Cubert died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
Devonport Drive is a street over from where an earlier shooting occurred on Cambridge Drive. One man was injured in that previous shooting.
It is too early to determine if the shootings are connected, police said.
This is the ninth Lexington homicide of 2018. Lexington is on pace to have the most homicides in the city's history. The previous record was 28 in 2017.
