Lexington, Ky. (WKYT) THURSDAY UPDATE: Lexington Police arrested David A. Kirk, Jr. on Thursday morning. He was at the Kroger on Bryan Station Road. According to police, Kirk called the detective working the case to turn himself in.

Lexington police have obtained a warrant in connection to a March 24th robbery of donations being collected for disabled veterans.

Police say David A. Kirk Jr., 38, stole a donation jar from "Veteran's Outreach," as members of the group were out collecting money outside the Walmart on New Circle Road.

The jar had been bolted to a table the group was using, but Kirk allegedly grabbed the entire table, with the jar still attached, and placed it in his truck.

One of the men collecting donations was injured when he tried to stop Kirk.

Kirk is charged with robbery 1st degree.
