Pregnant McCracken Co. teen suffocated; boyfriend charged with murder
A Paducah man faces a murder charge after reportedly suffocating his pregnant girlfriend, ultimately killing her and her unborn child.
According to the station, police were called to North 24th Street in Paducah on a report of an unresponsive woman. When they arrived, officers found 19-year-old Ja’Lynn Ragsdale, who was rushed to the hospital, but later died.
WPSD says that a report from the Medical Examiner attributed Ragsdale’s death to asphyxiation consistent with suffocation.
When police interviewed Lee-McCampbell, he reportedly told them he and Ragsdate were wrestling prior to her becoming unresponsive.
Lee-McCampbell is charged with murder and third-degree fetal homicide. He was taken to the McCracken County Jail.
