President Trump's Richmond Rally: What you need to know

RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - Eastern Kentucky University has released detailed information on President Donald Trump's Saturday rally at Alumni Coliseum in Richmond.

The university says you can begin waiting to enter the event at 8 a.m. Saturday. Doors will open at 4 p.m. before the event begins at 7 p.m. A ticket does not guarantee you entry to the event.

Signs are not allowed into the event, and there are several items prohibited by the U.S. Secret Service.


  • Aerosols

  • Ammunition

  • Animals other than service/guide animals

  • Backpacks

  • Bags and signs exceeding size restrictions

  • Bicycles

  • Balloons

  • Coolers

  • Drones and other unmanned aircraft systems

  • Explosives

  • Firearms

  • Glass, thermal, or metal containers

  • Laser pointers

  • Mace / Pepper spray

  • Packages

  • Selfie Sticks

  • Structures

  • Supports for signs and placards

  • Toy guns

  • Explosives

  • Weapons of any kind

  • Any other items determined to be potential safety hazards


EKU also has a weapons and dangerous instruments ban. EKU is also prohibiting paint, confetti, glitter, flag poles and e-cigarettes. The campus is tobacco and vape free.

You are not allowed to park overnight or camp the night before the event.

If you plan to have a public demonstration, you are allowed to do so as long as you are not in a restricted area on the event map which is at the bottom of the article.
