Monday marked one year since Attorney General Andy Beshear initiated Scam Alerts, a messaging service that provides warnings to subscribers via email or text of new or popular scams.

Beshear held a press conference Monday morning to give an update on the program.

Scam Alerts is the state's first comprehensive push to protect Kentuckians, especially seniors, from scammers. According to Beshear, more than 9,300 people have signed up for Scam Alerts.

Beshear says he's hoping the number continues to grow as the program enters its second year. He’s urging the public to report any and all scams to the Attorney General's office immediately.
