PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Pulaski County grandfather says his 18-year-old grandson was simply trying to avoid a bit of trouble just after 10'clock Saturday night.

“He couldn’t get across the creek," he man is heard telling dispatchers in a 911 call.

Avoiding one thing to find himself in another dangerous situation.

“Someone shot at my grandson," he said in the call.

He said his grandson was driving on Ben Thompson road in Eubank on Saturday night. He was trying to turn around because the road was flooded.

“He turned around in this guy’s driveway. The guy shot him, shot his back window out," the man said.

The man said his grandson was not hurt. Police say the bullet grazed the driver’s head rest. Police say the driver's younger, juvenile-age sister was also in the car.

Deputies went to the home of Danny Lee Conley, 65, where at first police say he refused to come out. He finally surrendered and was charged with wanton endangerment.

According to the citation, Conley told the deputies he was 'tired of people stealing from him.' WKYT asked the jail if we could talk to Conley but he said he did not want to talk to us.

Conley pleaded not guilty to the charges Monday in Pulaski District Court. A $10,000 bond was set. He will be back in court on February 21 for a preliminary hearing.
