FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Gov. Matt Bevin has officially vetoed House Bill 200 and House Bill 366, and the state has released the veto messages for both bills.
This comes after Bevin held a news conference Monday morning addressing Kentucky's economic situation, calling for bills that do more to address what he calls a "fiscal crisis."
Many Republicans opposed the veto while Democratic leaders say the veto should prompt lawmakers to make changes to the revenue bill. They believe the revenue bill favors the wealthy and corporations.
The legislature needs a simple majority to override Gov. Bevin's veto.
